Travelling light – beauty and hygiene products that really work.

Being helpful folk, (and because our newest team member Sammy is addicted to all things beauty related), we have a quick round up of some really cool, interesting and useful things which might make it easier to travel with products within your hand luggage. It’s a proper ‘win win’ – in addition to saving you space and time, the environment benefits and you’ll also prevent your belongings from being covered in shower gel/toothpaste!

So, without further ado, here are some travel essentials that you never knew existed:

1. Mouthwash, but not as you know it.

If you don’t have a toothbrush to hand, Lush’s Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster is a mouthwash like no other. I write from first hand experience – they are super handy after a long flight and the perfect way for a quick freshen up. And of course, they are vegetarian and cruelty free so they are perfect for everyone.
2. Washing, without the soap flying everywhere.

Soap Leaves have been around for years – it’s just that people didn’t know of them, or what to do with them! When travelling, use a soap leaf as a very small bar of soap – wet it, and your hands and get washing. It’s that simple. This is perfect for families as they travel – give a leaf to a child safe in the knowledge that you’ll still be able to wash yourself later! Brilliant!!

3. Shampoo, in a solid bar.

Yes, it’s another product from Lush. We’re not on commission here, it’s just that Lush are so organised at finding ways to remove packaging and make products more useful whenever they can – and this fits perfectly with the outlook of people who travel. Their Godiva ‘naked’ shampoo bar is perfect for travelling because it dries quickly once you’ve used it, looks like a miniature sun in your suitcase and bathroom and the citrus smells just like a holiday – and who doesn’t want to smell of holidays? As ever, they are vegetarian and cruelty free and as such, will work for everyone. Lush also do these handy little tins made to perfectly hold the bar if you feel you need ‘case’ for it. They are refillable, easy to clean and travel-friendly.

4. The collapsible water bottle

My last travel essential is something that is good to have to hand just in case it’s ever needed. We all need to do our bit to save the planet and use less plastic – this leak-proof collapsible water bottle holds an impressive litre of water. It takes up hardly any space in your luggage and it is BPA free. It is, freezer and dishwasher safe as well as heat resistant!

So, that’s our random round up of four things which can make your life easier, lighter, cleaner and more environmentally friendly whilst you’re travelling. Which do you see yourself using? We’d love to hear in the comments below….
